On March 8, 2017, Jeffrey G. Pomeroy, managing partner at Greene Reid & Pomeroy, successfully obtained a jury verdict against UHS Hospital in the amount of $200,000.00. The case involved a 69 year old woman who sustained pelvic fractures from a fall while attempting to open an electronic metal door to the emergency department at UHS Hospital in Binghamton, New York. Prior to this incident, the hospital removed the push plate to electronically open the emergency room doors without posting any warning signs thereby creating a dangerous condition to our client and other visitors and patients of the hospital. The hospital refused to make any offers to settle the lawsuit and on March 8, 2017, the jury awarded our client $200,000.00 to compensate her for past and future pain and suffering.
