James T. Snyder, Esq., of Greene & Reid, PLLC, was asked by the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers to testify on its behalf before the New York State Senate Standing Committee on Insurance on February 4, 2010, regarding allegations of fraud in New York’s No-Fault system. There were some 18 insurance industry executives and their lobbyists present to testify before the Senate Committee, all of whom wanted damaging and draconian pro-industry changes to New York’s No-Fault automobile coverage that would threaten to eliminate or severely limit access to medical and lost wage benefits for the vast majority of honest New Yorkers injured in automobile collisions. Mr. Snyder was one of only two speakers to testify on behalf of the rights of New York consumers, urging the Legislature and Insurance Department to protect consumers from these proposed radical changes by the insurance industry to New York’s No-Fault laws.
