• Put passwords on all credit card, bank, e-mail, work, and phone accounts. Avoid using words and numbers easily associated with you, such as pet and family names. Also, never give anyone your password or pin number.
• Keep personal information (social security card, identification card, driver’s license, etc.) separate and carry with you only what’s necessary. 
• Cut or shred all personal information, such as receipts, insurance forms, bank statements, address labels, and expired credit cards, before discarding to the trash or recycling.
• Use secure browsers when shopping online and making purchases over the Internet.
